POSITION SUMMARY
The Sign Language Interpreter position provides 24 hour accessibility for all deaf/hard of hearing patients and their families.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Associates of Arts Degree in Interpreting preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of three years professional interpreting experience
REGISTRATION:
None
SKILLS:
Fluency in English, American Sign Language, and Coded English
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
CERTIFICATION:
Certification - Level three (or above) certification through the Kansas Quality Assurance Screening, Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Missouri Certification, or National Interpreter Certificate.
