The nurse intern functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse which allows him/her to gain "hands on" experience in the clinical setting.  The primary focus is educational assisting the intern to prepare for a position as a graduate nurse.  The intern may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly dependent on unit assigned, implements and abides by Customer Service Standards.

Prior to the starting date of the Intern program, students must be eligible to enter their senior year in an accredited RN Baccalaureate/ADN program.  Students must also be registered and participating in an Internship course at an accredited RN Baccalaureate or Associate Degree program while employed in this position.

Prior experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a health care enfironment helpful but not required.

American Heart Association, Health Care Provider:  Basic Life Support Certification required.  This position will be June 7, 2010 to August 13, 2010.
